Dehydrators

A commercial dehydrator removes moisture from fruit, vegetables, herbs and meat with low, steady heat and airflow, extending shelf life and creating products such as dried fruit and jerky. Babak Food Equipment offers commercial food dehydrators, including Hobart models, for restaurants, bakeries, specialty food producers, caterers and institutions across Vancouver and British Columbia; ask our team about options. They are part of our vegetable prep range.
What to look for in a commercial dehydrator

Capacity: count the trays and total drying area you need per batch.
Airflow: horizontal airflow dries trays evenly without rotating them.
Temperature range: most units run at about 95–165°F (35–74°C); meat jerky needs the higher end of that range for food safety.
Timer and controls: digital timers and thermostats make long drying cycles easier to manage.
Construction: stainless steel cabinets and trays clean easily and last longer.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a commercial and a home dehydrator?
Commercial dehydrators have more trays, stronger fans and heaters, sturdier construction and more precise controls for long, frequent drying cycles.
Can you make beef jerky in a commercial dehydrator?
Yes. Follow your local food-safety guidance – meat is usually heated to a safe internal temperature before or during drying.
