A commercial electric fryer gives you precise temperature control, fast recovery and a simple installation wherever gas isn’t available. Babak Food Equipment offers electric floor fryers and countertop electric deep fryers for restaurants, cafés, pubs, food trucks, hotels, schools and institutional kitchens across Vancouver and British Columbia – with a wide choice from Vulcan, plus models from Globe and Avesta, in sizes to suit every fry station.
Types of commercial electric deep fryers
Electric floor fryers
Floor-standing electric fryers are built for full-service restaurants and pubs. Immersed elements sit directly in the oil, so heat transfers efficiently and the fryer recovers quickly between baskets. Many models swing the elements up for easy cleaning.
Countertop electric fryers
Countertop electric fryers fit on a counter or equipment stand and are ideal for cafés, bars, concession stands and food trucks that fry in smaller batches.
Double and split-pot fryers
A double electric fryer, or a split-pot model, gives you two independent tanks. You can fry fish and fries separately to avoid flavour transfer, or run one side during slow periods to save energy.
Ventless electric fryers
Ventless electric fryers combine filtration and fire suppression so they can operate without a traditional hood, where local code allows. We are an authorized dealer for Giles ventless fryers.
You can browse all gas, countertop and electric models in our main commercial fryers category.
How to choose an electric commercial fryer

Voltage and phase: most commercial electric fryers need 208 or 240 V, and larger models often need three-phase power. Confirm your panel and circuit before you order.
Oil capacity: countertop models typically hold about 10–30 lb of oil; floor models about 35–85 lb. Size the tank to your peak volume.
Kilowatt rating: a higher kW rating means faster heat-up and recovery, which matters most for frozen product and rush periods.
Single or split tank: split tanks add flexibility for allergen control and menu variety.
Ventilation: standard electric fryers still need a commercial hood with fire suppression; only listed ventless models can run without one.
Filtration and cleaning: built-in filtration, lift-out elements and a drain valve make daily cleaning faster and extend oil life.

Electric vs. gas fryers

Electric fryers heat the oil directly, waste very little heat and hold temperature closely. They are easier to install where there is no gas line, but need the right electrical service.
Gas fryers usually offer higher output and lower operating cost in many locations, and are the common choice for very high-volume frying.

Frequently asked questions
Are electric fryers as good as gas fryers?
Yes, for most menus. Electric fryers are very efficient and hold temperature precisely, while gas fryers are often preferred for very high volume and where gas costs less than electricity.
What voltage does a commercial electric fryer need?
Most need 208 or 240 V, and many floor models need three-phase power. The exact requirement is listed on each model’s specification sheet.
Can I use a commercial electric fryer without a hood?
Only if the fryer is listed as a ventless unit with built-in filtration and fire suppression, and your local code allows it. Standard electric fryers need a commercial hood.
What size electric fryer do I need?
Small cafés and food trucks often manage with a countertop fryer, while busy restaurants usually choose a floor fryer with about 40–50 lb of oil or more. Peak volume and menu decide.
